I am a runner, a cardio junkie. I love the feeling of accomplishment I have when I’m done, the calories it burns, the medals I’ve collected and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
Since 2006 when I began distance running, however, I’ve made little time to do any other type of activity. The occasional weight lifting session here, at home video there (p90x and Jillian Michael’s Yoga to be exact).
So my resolution for 2014 is to cross train more often. I plan to travel Columbus trying new types of fitness. Here is a list of some that come highly recommended…
- All things Yoga. I recently did my first Vinyasa Yoga class at Harbor Yoga Studio in Dublin and I loved it. LOVED! I hope to try other forms of yoga and other yoga places. I also have a recent obsession with lululemon. Their tagline lists some of my favorite things…. Yoga. Run. Life. Blog. I’ve been told they have a running group in the summer time, so I’ll look forward to checking that out.
- Pure Barre – my friend and old roommate teaches at Pure Barre Columbus, I can’t wait to take one of her classes.
- Tabata Training
- CrossFit
- HIIT
- Spinning – I’ve done one spinning class in my life, wouldn’t mind checking out some more.
I plan to feature the new places I try and let readers know what I think, so send me suggestions if you have a favorite place!
