Books about Running

As a teacher and a mom, I am constantly encouraging those around me to be a reader and lifelong learner.  I personally prefer non-fiction as I don’t have a ton of “free” time and like to learn when I finally make time to snuggle in with a good book.  As life has gotten busier, I’ve turned to podcasts and some good ‘ol books-on-CD, but I still try to make time for an old fashion paperback when I can.  Reading about health, fitness & running is a passion of mine and I hope I can inspire others to jump in!

Books I’d Recommend

  • The Running Dream by Wendell Van Draanen (fiction)
  • Runner’s World Guide to Running & Pregnancy: How to stay fit, keep safe & have a healthy baby by Chris Lundgren
  • The Marathon by Jeff Galloway
  • Pre:  The Story of America’s Greatest Running Legend, Steve Prefontaine

Books I’m Currently Reading (will complete book review/recap when finished)

  • The Runner’s Guide to the Meaning of Life by Amby Burfoot
  • Yoga for Runners by Christine Felstead
